Our Special Education Department provides services for children, parents and educators in areas associated with persons with special needs. This department is responsible for the assurance of appropriate education to all students with exceptionalities and provides programs for the identification and support of children who meet eligibility.
Assistive Technology is any item, piece of equipment or product, whether acquired commercially off the shelf, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.
Assistive Technology Services are any services that directly assist an individual with a disability in the selection, acquisition, or use of an assistive technology device.
ANS uses Universal Design for Learning to focus on providing curriculum alternatives to make learning accessible and appropriate for individuals with different backgrounds, learning styles, abilities, and disabilities in widely varied learning contexts.
